How to test Compliance policy

Introduction:

The very next step after creating policy is to test and validate the results. In continuation with the article of How to create policy, we shall test the results of the policy over here. We can also test specific condition with the sample output.

Accessing Policy "Test"

Below are the steps to access the Policy Test.

Compliance -> Policies -> Select the policy to test(in this case "Login banner") -> Test

Testing the policy

Validating the results for campus01-b02-access01

(1) Hostname : campus01-b02-access01 ->(2) Rules : Banner check -> (3) Test -> (4) Compliant status is displayed: Non compliant

Validating results for campus01-b02-access02:

(1) Hostname : campus01-b02-access02 ->(2) Rules : Banner check -> (3) Test -> (4) Compliant status is displayed: Compliant

Testing the Condition

If we wanted to test a specific condition with sample output text, below is the steps to follow:

(1) Compliance -> (2) Policies -> (3) Select the intended Policy -> (4) Select the intended Rule -> (5) Select the intended Condition -> (6) Test
